Abstract

The tumour microenvironment is epigenetically remodelled during progression. We mapped methylation changes in stromal and immune compartments of breast tumours.

Stromal DNA methylation reprogramming preceded immune exclusion and predicted response to checkpoint blockade, highlighting the microenvironment as an epigenetic biomarker.
