A subpopulation of drug-tolerant persister cells underlies relapse after targeted therapy. We characterised persister states in lung adenocarcinoma using lineage tracing.
Persister cells adopted a reversible, epigenetically defined state dependent on lipid peroxidase activity, revealing a therapeutic vulnerability to combination treatment.
