Abstract
Crop wild relatives harbour allelic diversity lost during domestication. We present a chromosome-scale assembly of a wild cereal, resolving 38,400 protein-coding genes and 11,200 structural variants.
Selection scans identified drought-associated haplotypes enriched near presence–absence variants, providing a roadmap for introgression breeding under climate stress.
