Abstract

Early identification of treatment responders could transform diabetes care. We measured a panel of 24 serum biomarkers in 612 patients initiating second-line therapy and modelled 12-month glycaemic response.

A four-marker signature predicted response with an AUC of 0.83, outperforming baseline HbA1c alone. These findings support biomarker-guided treatment selection in type 2 diabetes.
