Peer Review Process

All research submissions to this journal undergo double-anonymous peer review, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential from one another.

Stages

1. Initial screening. The editorial office checks scope, completeness, and adherence to the author guidelines. Manuscripts that are out of scope or incomplete may be returned without review.
2. Editor assignment. A handling editor evaluates the manuscript and, if suitable, invites at least two independent reviewers.
3. Review. Reviewers assess originality, rigour, clarity, and significance, and return a recommendation.
4. Decision. The editor weighs the reports and issues a decision: accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject.
5. Revision and final decision. Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers before a final decision is made.

Our typical time from submission to first decision is six to eight weeks. Editorials and invited tutorials are reviewed internally by the editorial team.
