Open Journal System Demo: Health Sciences

About the Journal

Open Journal System Demo: Health Sciences is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal publishing clinical and translational research across medicine and the health sciences — including precision medicine, genomics, public health, and evidence-based practice.

Aims & Scope. We publish original research, systematic reviews, randomised controlled trials, cohort studies and case reports that advance patient care and population health. Our scope spans cardiology, oncology, infectious disease, neurology, mental health, epidemiology and health policy — with particular emphasis on research that bridges laboratory discovery and clinical practice.

For authors. Every accepted article is openly licensed (CC BY), assigned a DOI and published in full-text HTML and PDF with structured, interoperable metadata. We follow the CONSORT, STROBE and PRISMA reporting standards and operate a rigorous double-anonymised peer review, with a dedicated rapid-review track for time-sensitive clinical findings.

Open and trusted. Indexed in PubMed and Scopus and a member of COPE, the journal is committed to transparency, research integrity and barrier-free access to medical knowledge — with no article-processing charges for authors or readers.

Serum Biomarkers Predict Early Treatment Response in Type 2 Diabetes
Early identification of treatment responders could transform diabetes care. We measured a panel of 24 serum biomarkers in 612 patients initiating second-line therapy and modelled 12-month glycaemic response. A four-marker...

Histopathological Correlates of the Tumour Microenvironment in Colorectal Cancer
The tumour microenvironment shapes colorectal cancer progression. We performed quantitative histopathology on 340 resection specimens, scoring immune infiltration, stromal content, and vascular density. High peritumoural...

Single-Cell Profiling Reveals Immune Heterogeneity in Rheumatoid Arthritis
Synovial inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis is clinically heterogeneous. We applied single-cell RNA sequencing to synovial tissue from 28 patients spanning early and established disease. We identified two distinct...

A Polygenic Risk Score for Coronary Artery Disease in a Multi-Ethnic Cohort
Polygenic risk scores promise to refine cardiovascular risk stratification but are largely derived from European populations. We evaluated a recalibrated score in a multi-ethnic cohort of 41,000 participants. The score...

Long-Term Outcomes of Early Rhythm Control in Atrial Fibrillation
The durability of early rhythm control benefit in atrial fibrillation remains uncertain. We followed 5,200 patients for a median of seven years in a prospective registry. Early rhythm control was associated with a sustained...

Neuroinflammation Biomarkers and Cognitive Decline: A Prospective Cohort
Chronic neuroinflammation is implicated in cognitive ageing. We tracked plasma inflammatory markers and cognition in 1,800 older adults over eight years. Elevated baseline neuroinflammatory markers predicted accelerated...
